PALM BAY - Family takes top priority at Bethesda on Turkey Creek.

It is a full-service assisted-living community, owned and operated by Bethesda Senior Care Inc.

Owner Linnie DiGiacomo said she and her family - including her husband, Robert, daughter, Lauren, and son, Nick - have owned the facility for the past six years.

“Our whole goal is to try to respect our residents’ privacy and the abilities they have,” Mrs. DiGiacomo said. “We encourage their independence, to get them to feel that this is home for them.”

Bethesda on Turkey Creek, 2800 Fordham Road N.E., is on a shaded, 18-acre site adjacent to the creek.

“It’s been here for ages,” Mrs. DiGiacomo said of the facility. “It was started by the Hungarian Baptist Federation of North America.”

The facility “has a quiet, serene atmosphere” is licensed for 75 apartments and has 70 residents, she said. She and her family plan to expand the facility with 22 new apartments in February or March.

“The new section will have private or semi-private rooms,” Mrs. DiGiacomo said.
